Nabil's Boulevard of Undiscovered Dreams

Everyday when we walk on the streets of Kathmandu, we see thousands of faces, then among these thousands there are those who feel that the street is their stage and that is what helps them to survive. They are out there on streets every single day performing their art for survival to earn bread some for them some for their families. TSN took time out to recognize such performers and give them a stage to show their talents and make extra money for the festival Tihar.

On the occasion of Tihar 2017, Teenage Society Nepal ; successfully organized an event called " Nabil's Boulevard of Undiscovered Dreams " which means giving the undiscovered dreams a big road (way) to move on, on 18th October where total of 5 performers showed their talents.

Mr. Bimal khatri, a unsighted singer who normally performs around Baudhanath Stupa. Mr. Anand Paswan, a differently able painter with no hands who paints around Ratnapark and Basantapur. Mr. Subha Gandarva, a street sarangi player based on Thamel. Mr.Bikash Gandarva ; a street flute player who plays around Thamel and Mr.Bikram Gandarva, a street madal player who also plays around Thamel were the performers and each gave wonderful performances. On addition , Mr.Laxmi Narayan Shilpakar who is khown as ' The flag man' from basantapur was also there with his flag as a guest and gave a wonderful speech about nationalism . To enhance the program , there were more three performances from the side of TSN all relating to Tihar.

The paintings of Mr. Anand Paswan along with featuring artist Mr.Anish and Mr.Sabal were also exhibited during the lunch break. The money collected from sold paintings were further donated to Mr. Aanad Paswan.

The event was aided by Nabil Foundation . Similarly , the event was supported by Himalayan College of Management , Emerald Education , Shinetech Nepal pvt ltd and Raja Gupta (Shivam arts).

Each performer was given a cash reward by Nabil Foundation, which was handed over to performers
by President of TSN, Sachin Dangi, on behalf of the foundation.

TSN was delighted to have Mr. Asish Thakur , CEO of Glocal Pvt Ltd, Miss Anusha Kadel Project Coordinator of Glocal Pvt Ltd, Mr. Rabindra Ojha ; managing director of Shinetech pvt ltd , Ms. Paru Adhikari ; Executive Director of Shinetech pvt ltd. as Chief Guests of the event.

We want to send a message that celebrations should be done but we also need to look out for ways we can accommodate more people into celebration and search for ways we reach the celebration to the required people in the society. So that the celebration remains in memory of wider range of people for a longer period of time meanwhile serving humanity.

Here, in our case, we got to sing, dance celebrate Tihar, meanwhile we also got to help street performers to celebrate their Tihar as well. We might forget about the event couple of weeks after it was done but for the street performers who needed economical help for Tihar, they got it by playing and earning on their own, we just provided them a stage and an audience. They were happy, the audience was happy and we Teenage Society of Nepal are happy.
